Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I start?

First, an intake application needs to be completed.  You can download the application for therapeutic services here.  After I receive the completed packet, I will call you with available appointments for an assessment.  If you are having trouble with the downloading, don't worry!  Contact me and I will send you all of the information by email or mail, whichever is your preference.

If you are seeking neurofeedback services, then let me know and I will send you an intake packet.

How do I pay for post adoption related sessions?

Most of my families apply for funding through PASSS.  PASSS stands for Post Adoption Special Services Subsidy.  It is a state adoption subsidy, administered by the counties.  It was created to cover the fee for services not covered by Medicaid or insurance.  PASSS is available for all adoptive families, except for step parent adoptions, regardless of the type of adoption (international, attorney, public, or private agency).   Your child does not have to meet the federal or state definition of special needs, which are more detailed than the PASSS definition of special needs.

Each child is eligible for $10,000 per fiscal year for treatment. If you are interested in applying for PASSS, then contact the Children Services department in your county of residence; it does not matter if your child had been adopted from another county.  The caseworker from the adoption subsidy department can provide you with a PASSS application.  When you complete the application, send it with my letter of need regarding the assessment, and a credentials form found here.

Each county has a PASSS committee which reviews applications monthly.  After the committee sends you an award letter, call me to schedule your appointment.  Please bring your letter with you so I can place a copy of it in your child's chart for billing purposes as all bills are sent directly to the county.  The county  may assign you a copay.  Typically, copays are 5% per unit.

I also accept self pay and from HSA.

What about Medicaid or Insurance?

My services are not covered by Medicaid or insurances.

Is my child too young/too old for treatment?

Because each child is unique, each treatment approach is tailored for your family's needs.  I have worked with children from birth to young adults well into their twenties.

Anything else I need to know?

Because I meet with parents first, your child or teen will wait in the waiting room.  If you feel your child or teen will need supervision, then please feel free to bring another person to sit with them.

Do you see adults?
Yes.  Please contact me to discuss your needs.

Where is your office?

I am located at 5985 Wilcox Place Suite C Dublin, OH  43016.
